Eco Language
We have compiled a list of words that you might read about on our website or in reference to our products.
Organic vs. Certified Organic:
Many products are called organic if they have been grown naturally, without chemicals. "Organic" is sometimes used loosely as a marketing term. When something is described as "certified organic", it means it has had to meet strict government guidelines to certify that it has been grown, processed and handled without pesticides, chemicals or anything artificial. The term "certified" gives you the assurance that what you are buying is 100% organic. The t-shirts that we sell at MIJOY are certified organic.
Eco-Friendly:
Also "environmentally friendly" or "green". This means that what is being described causes minimal to no harm to the environment. Often products described this way are considered good for people and good for the environment.
Fair Trade:
This guarantees that the producers of a product from a poor country have been paid a fair income and have been treated with respect.
Lotka Paper:
Lotka paper is made from the bark of the Daphne bush which regenerates naturally providing a tree free renewable resource.
